The MondialBox® franchise concept was created in 2013 by Eric CHARLES, with the opening of the first centre in Ancenis.
After a trip to the United States, a pioneer in the self-storage sector, the creator of MondialBox® brought back an innovative concept and an idea to set up in France. Responding to a need for both private individuals lacking space and professionals looking for storage space, storage unit rentals became an obvious business to develop in France.
The first MondialBox® was therefore born in Ancenis, offering a storage unit rentals service to its customers. Accessible 24/7, on a 100% secure site and in self-storage drive, the site was a resounding success. As word of mouth spread, several entrepreneurs were won over and in 2014, the first franchisees opened their own centres.
Over the past 10 years, MondialBox® has continued to expand throughout France and Europe. All of the centres offer individual secure storage spaces for hire, for both private individuals and professionals, either in outdoor containers or in indoor buildings...

Self-storage drive® is now a global industry that began in the United States over thirty years ago. In 2013, there were almost 50,000 self-storage drive® sites, i.e. one site for every 6,260 inhabitants. This market, which was thought to be mature, continues to grow, with 500 to 1,500 new sites a year.
In Europe, high population densities and low average living space mean that people are looking for additional space. Self-storage drive® meets this need, and has strong growth potential. Launched in Europe only 20 years ago, development has accelerated sharply in recent years, confirming the relevance of this service.
The concept is growing rapidly in France, reaching out to all socio-professional categories. With nearly 1,300 storage units, France is increasing its storage capacity and volume from strength to strength. However, there is still great potential for expansion in many regions (according to a 2022 XERFI study, the number of storage units will reach 1,500 by 2025).
MondialBox remains one of the market leaders, opening an average of 10 centres per year.

- Recyclable equipment and supplies : In partnership with companies such as Eco Carton, we offer our customers cardboard and packaging with the Green Storage Evolution label, thus helping to reduce the environmental impact of our activities.
